Message Albeit they're newer, the people I know who have one have as many, if not more, issues with their 240 as I have with my Z. As it's been noted, the Z is tough to work on, even compared to a 240. I wouldn't necessarily view the 240 as a junior 300zx, but more like a 300zx on a diet. I've looked into them just as a lightweight track car alone. However, I've never been able to get over how good the Z looks, handles, etc, so I've stuck with them over the years.

If you treat her well, she'll generally return the favor. Around here, you could find a budget 300zx, but expect to put some time into a few repairs here and there over the next few months. Once she's up to speed though, you should be good to go. Really it depends on the car; my NA I had through high school treated me quite fairly, and I rarely had an issue with her. Same with my first TT, although she was meticulously maintained and I paid a price for that.

I see plenty of people here discussing issues they're having with their Z, so they aren't bullet proof. You'll run into an issue here and there, but if you budget some cash each month to repairs, I honestly think you'll be pleased with your Z32.

Cheers,
JBrobst
